Well, it is not always necessary to include a subwoofer in a car stereo setup. However, if you wish to have bass that can be felt and heard, it is highly recommended that you invest in some sort of sub-woofer system.

It is possible to get some bass without a dedicated subwoofer, but when you do down the highway with the windows down, you'll realize that there's not much bass to be heard!
